August 16-26, 2017
Writers may apply to the conference by submitting a sample of original work and an application. The application deadline is February 15, 2017. There is a $15 application fee. Notification letters will be sent via email in late May. A $300 deposit to hold your spot at the conference is due soon after notification of acceptance.
There are several ways to
apply to the conference. You will see an overall list below. Those applying for
financial aid may choose more than one category. If you would like to be
considered for a spot as a general contributor should you not receive a
financial aid award, you must submit a general contributor application in
addition to the financial aid application. Writers may apply in more than one genre.
Acceptance is based on the strength and promise of the writing sample and the Admissions Board's judgment that the applicant will benefit from the conference. The workshops are designed to accommodate both published writers and those in the early stages of promising careers.
We cannot enroll anyone for less than the full ten days of the conference. Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age.
N.B.: Applicants submit their top choices for workshop leader upon acceptance to the conference, noting it on the deposit/confirmation form. Participants are then assigned to a workshop based on the program’s commitment to giving all attendees one of their choices.
Auditors who attend the conference without a manuscript are invited to apply by submitting the auditor application. The application deadline is February 15, 2017. There is a $15 application fee. Notification letters will be sent via email in late May. A $300 deposit to hold your spot at the conference is due soon after notification of acceptance.
